The Memory Rescue Project and Contest!!

Here is a current project of mine. I have this basket full of undeveloped film. Only a few of them are labeled, and they are from spring of 2003... so I know this film goes back to at least 2003! Sheesh! You know that commercial where the boy is stuck in a cannonball and he's yelling at his mom for leaving him in that position in the digital camera forever? Well, I need to rescue all the memories that are hanging out in these little film rolls! I plan to bite off a little bit at a time. Today I'm taking five of the rolls to Wal-Mart for developing. I'm excited though because I have no idea what will come back! Don't you love that?

So here's the contest part... (Pay attention!!) Each person is allowed three guesses at how many rolls of film are in this basket. The person who
comes the closest without going over wins the book below:
It's all about organizing your scrapbook space. It's brand new... unfortunately one of those book club books that came before I could decline it. I have flipped through it, and I'm ready to pass it on to someone else who may get some value out of it. So if you think you might like this book, guess how many rolls! You have until next Sunday night to guess. I'll announce the winner on Monday! Good luck!

Twenty-three?

When I was waiting to get my 4-year old rolls of film back, it made me think of that that one time you developed a roll of film you found and it turned out to be from junior high (or high school?) :-D

Mine were APS film-- the color had deteriorated on a lot of the shots, although one roll came out almost perfect. Of course, the film went through three moves and at least three or four x-ray machines and sat around in all kinds of heat and light conditions in the interim ;-)

I should post some of the more... er... "interesting" results.

Um...18.

Yes, T, please post the more 'interesting' stuff. It sounds...interesting. [As long as there's nothing in them that could be included in the statement "too much information." ;)]

I use my film camera only periodically since I got my digital camera - and now I have no printed pics. Why? I'm too lazy to print what's on the digital so I just save to CD, and it takes so long to finish one roll of film that I keep forgetting there's film in the camera!

I also take alot less pics these days. At bigger events everyone has a camera and it seems weird to be taking the same pic 5 other people are taking, when you can just get a copy from them. I think scrapbooking has caused me to not want to take pictures too, the more I take, the more I have to scrap! :oP

Hey, you guys get three guesses a piece, so keep trying. Not to say that your original guesses are wrong, but just don't want to cheat you out of two more guesses!

ROFLMAO, Satrina!! Yes...I had that film, but never had money...then at UCLA I got them developed and they were pictures of us goofing around by the Moe Hut during lunch...that was in the 10th grade because after that year we were too cool to hang out at the Moe Hut. Remember how the Mexicans would grab a guy in their group and ram his nuts against a pole?? That was crazy! I think the other pictures that came out were from Latin Convention and a photo shoot in PV. I have one roll of film that I think is slide film...I know for a fact that it's from when I was historian from LL's, and I think it's a photo shoot from a park. I have yet to develop it, and I wonder if it will even come out! I should dig it out and see.

I think the last time I took film pictures was right before I got my current digitial camera. There is still a roll in there I need to finish. I believe it's from the Weird Al concert. I just have to remember at some point (if I ever catch up) in my scrapbooking to make sure I'm checking the computer for pics from that time. My little world will crumble if I do a layout out of sequence! Aaaaugh!!!

And yes, those Moe Hut soccer guys were scary :-o

And no, there's nothing that interesting in my old photos! LOL.

After all the recent nostalgic talk, I went back and looked for old photos in my collection. I had a bunch of pictures from club once, but I don't know what happened to them-- I couldn't find any. Probably they all went into the year-end album or something :-(

I hardly have any photos from high school.

I seemed to have missed out on the Mexican nut rammers in high school. But I did find my Squire scrapbook from when I was President...that was such a mistake! :oP

Yes, we all know what you Squires did in your free time!

darn it! i leave town for a few days and i miss all the fun! and i can't even guess because T already guessed the correct answer!

i'm back to film. i had the brief digital period (my tiny cybershot and the t1) but now i'm on to SLR! R is completely digital at this point - so i guess i will be the film one and R is the digital one.

i found a roll of film the other day that looks like it's never been developed. i have no idea when it was from. i'll have to see, it's an APS roll and i haven't taken APS pics in a while!
